Triad ISSA Chapter Meeting – February 25th

Winston-Salem, NC

Cost: Free for Triad ISSA Chapter Members and First Time Visitors. $10 for returning visitors.  Dinner will be provided.

Agenda:

1. Meet, greet, network and dinner (will be provided) (6 pm-6:45 pm)

2. Chapter business (6:45 pm to 7 pm)     

3. Presentation (7 p.m. to 8 p.m.): “Principles of Physical Security”

 

Matthew Block will give an introduction to locks and lock picking, the implications for medium and large businesses, and physical security concepts. He will spend about 15 minutes discussing CarolinaCon, and the electronic badge kit we will being given to the attendees.

 

Presenter’s Bio:

Matt Block is an information security professional currently engaged in penetration testing in the financial sector. Matt has been consulting on physical and cyber security for over 5 years and has presented at over 30 conferences. As the president of FALE (FALE Association of Locksport Enthusiasts) he has worked to remove security through obscurity by educating consumers and businesses with lock picking and physical security workshops around the country.

The Information Systems Security Association is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.

The Triad of NC chapter provides a local resource for information security professionals to get together, learn new things, and develop relationships with others in the industry. If you are involved in information security, full or part time, or are simply interested in the subject, this organization is a great way to learn and grow.

The Triad of NC chapter meets the 4th Thursday of each month January – October and the 2nd Thursday in November and December.  Meeting venues are generally rotated monthly between Dynamic Quest in Greensboro and Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
