2. Chapter business (6:45 pm to 7 pm)     

3. Presentation  (7:00 pm – 8:00 pm): “Ransomware – past, present, and future”



In this presentation we will explore some of the most notorious ransomware strains seen the in the wild. We will discuss emerging trends in the techniques, tactics and procedures (TTPs) ransomware authors are using to exploit organizations and how defenders can better protect their organization’s assets from this threat.


Presenter’s Biography:

Chakra Bokkisam is a solutions architect at Cybereason. He holds more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry with a focus on enterprise endpoint security. He’s helped organizations improve their ability to detect complex targeted threats faster and more thoroughly. Chakra has a strong background in internal controls and conducting regulatory and standards-based security audits. He’s successfully delivered security solutions to multiple large enterprises in the APAC region.

ISSA Triad of NC

The Information Systems Security Association is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.

The Triad of NC chapter provides a local resource for information security professionals to get together, learn new things, and develop relationships with others in the industry. If you are involved in information security, full or part time, or are simply interested in the subject, this organization is a great way to learn and grow.

The Triad of NC chapter meets the 4th Thursday of each month January – October and the 2nd Thursday in November and December.  Meeting venues are generally rotated monthly between Dynamic Quest in Greensboro and Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
