This month’s meeting you are invited to a special showing of “The Company Man”, a new video produced by the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division to raise awareness in the business sector about the threat posed to the U.S. economy and the theft of trade secrets.  Based on a true 2012 FBI investigation involving a mid-sized U.S. company which ended in the successful conviction of two Chinese nationals who attempted to bribe an employee to provide trade secrets.

Presenting will be Special Agent (SA) Brent Underwood of the United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).  SA Underwood has over 19 years of law enforcement experience at the local, state, and Federal levels.  SA Underwood is currently tasked to provide Research, Development, and Acquisition protection for Department of Defense technologies throughout North Carolina.  He is a representative of Red Dart, an FBI-supported program created to better educate the private sector on counterintelligence techniques.  He holds a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and a M.A. in Political Science.

Elections need to be conducted for the new year’s chapter officers, it is VERY important that we get all nominees submitted this and next week.  Please have all nominees submitted no later than Friday, February 13, 2015.  We would like each election nominee to confirm their acceptance and would like them present at the February meeting for introduction and to voice a brief summary on themselves to the membership at during our business portion of the meeting.
