Walter Turner will be speaking on the state of cybersecurity past, present, and future, as well as on upcoming threats. He will also look at network defenses, data defenses, physical security and its place in cyber security, insider threats, user threats (unintentional ones like phishing) and then talk about cyber security in the home for you and your users.

Walt Turner, is Vice President at Secure Web Apps, a cyber security company. Walt has done system, application, real time embedded, operating system, simulation and web programming in his long and illustrious career. He has also held management positions through president and has consulted in over 17 industries, including Fortune 500 companies. His involvement in cyber security began in the early 1980’s in a project for networking banks and continues today. Walt’s recently authored the 5-star eBook entitled ‘Cyber Security for You’, now available on Amazon. His latest project was receiving the Healthcare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HISPP) certification.

ISSA Triad of NC
The Information Systems Security Association is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.
The Triad of NC chapter provides a local resource for information security professionals to get together, learn new things, and develop relationships with others in the industry. If you are involved in information security, full or part time, or are simply interested in the subject, this organization is a great way to learn and grow.
The Triad of NC chapter meets the 4th Thursday of each month January – October and the 2nd Thursday in November and December. Meeting venues are generally rotated monthly between Dynamic Quest in Greensboro and Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
