Triad ISSA Chapter Meeting – July 26th

Cost: Free for Triad ISSA Chapter Members and First Time Visitors. $10 for returning visitors.  Dinner will be provided.

1. Meet, greet, network, and dinner (will be provided) (6:00 pm – 6:45 pm)

2. Chapter business  (6:45 pm – 7:00 pm)

3. Presentation  (7:00 pm – 8:00 pm):  Social Media, Mobile Phones, and Digital Forensics

Abstract:

This session will delve into extracting social media artifacts on mobile phones using available forensics tools, conducive to an investigation. Taking this knowledge, the session will then cover how using these artifacts which are invaluable in both preventing and solving terror attacks.

The Orlando Pulse Nightclub and San Bernardino attacks will be presented as case studies to provide specific examples of where social media has played a major part in indoctrinating extremist ideology.

 

Presenter’s Biography:

Mr. Abdl Hason has over thirty years of experience in the security industry internationally, dedicated to the areas of counter terrorism, counter intelligence, and cyber security, with a focus on countering international terrorism and radical Islam, particularly in the United States & Europe. Having worked with the American Academy of Applied Forensics (AAAF) teaching Forensics and Counter Terrorism, he is now the CEO of the International Counter Terrorism Forensics Foundation (INTCTF). He has served on the United States Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force (ECTF) and is a member of National Association of Chiefs of Police and the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA). He has conducted forensic and counter terrorism presentations for the US Secret Service, FBI, InfraGard, International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI), and the Techno Security and Digital Forensics Conference. Mr. Hason is a certified forensics and steganography examiner.

The Triad of NC chapter meets the 4th Thursday of each month January – October and the 2nd Thursday in November and December.  Meeting venues are generally rotated monthly between Dynamic Quest in Greensboro and Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
