Cost: Free for Triad ISSA Chapter Members and First Time Visitors. $10 for returning visitors.  Dinner will be provided.

Agenda:

1. Meet, greet, network, and dinner (will be provided) (6:00 pm – 6:45 pm)

2. Chapter business (6:45 pm – 7:00 pm) – including annual election!

3. Presentation (7:00 pm – 8:00 pm): Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality Transforming Business

 

Abstract:

Looking Glass Services Inc, a virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) service firm headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina will be providing an overview of how VR/AR technology is transforming the business sector large and small. They will be highlighting the way both VR and AR have found a new footing, and the ingenious ways companies like Ford, Walmart, and Lowe’s Home improvement are utilizing them. The presentation will be followed with the opportunity to experience some demos on VR headsets to get the real experience.

Presenters’ Biography:

John McBride, CEO and Founder of Looking Glass Studios, a VR/AR consulting firm headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and dedicated to utilizing immersive technologies for improving how business harnesses the power of VR/AR in the form of marketing, training and communication across all sectors of the business world.

Registration implies acceptance of this policy. Note: Please try to register by Tuesday evening of meeting week so we can plan dinner appropriately.

It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members.

The Triad of NC chapter provides a local resource for information security professionals to get together, learn new things, and develop relationships with others in the industry. If you are involved in information security, full or part time, or are simply interested in the subject, this organization is a great way to learn and grow.

The Triad of NC chapter meets the 4th Thursday of each month January – October and the 2nd Thursday in November and December.  Meeting venues are generally rotated monthly between Dynamic Quest in Greensboro and Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem.
